Nigerian actor Eso Dyke has talked candidly about his arduous path to financial security in Nollywood, stating that reaching a significant milestone required years of perseverance.
The actor discussed his early hardships and the patience that formed his career in an interview with media personality Chude.
Dyke revealed that it took him over seven years in the entertainment business to make his first one million naira as an actor.
He clarified that although he first made slow progress, he maintained his focus in spite of the difficulties involved in pursuing an acting career.
Dyke studied law before deciding to pursue acting full-time. He attended the University of Benin to study law before graduating from the Nigerian Law School.
The actor started out in television, making cameos in well-known shows including Tinsel.
Later, he became more well-known thanks to his appearances in programmes like Ricordi, Game On, and The Smart Money Woman.
Dyke has starred in a number of commercially successful Nollywood movies in recent years, which has raised his fame.
In retrospect, he claimed that he never let his difficulties come to light.

“It took me more than 7 years to make my first 1 million Naira bulk as an actor.
“Like before I got one million naira, I mean one million naira, my brother it wasn’t too long again. But again, I am not a protrayer of suffering.
“So even if I’m suffering, you won’t know. But before I got one million naira bulk, it took some time. Probably eight or seven years.”
