A Nigerian lady, Juliet Sunday Claire, has cried out for justice after her younger brother allegedly died in police custody in Ogun State.
Claire, who described the deceased as her parents’ only son, said she learned on Tuesday evening, October 20, 2026, that her brother’s body was at a morgue in the state.
Recounting the incident on Facebook, she explained that her brother had travelled to Ogun State to look after his farm, while their mother also had farms in the area.
She immediately travelled to their hometown after receiving the news and reached out to the person who informed her about her brother’s situation.
She alleged that her brother was arrested on Saturday, October 17, and taken to a police cell, where he reportedly died.
Claire said the family was never informed about his arrest, adding that they had spoken with him a few days before his death.
She explained that his phone often failed to connect because he spent most of his time on the farm.
The young lady said she went to the police station to ask about her brother, find out why he was arrested, and seek his release.
She claimed the police told her he had been brought in after someone accused him of stealing plantain.
She expressed shock at the allegation, noting that their mother also cultivated plantain on her farm.
Claire further claimed she was told her brother had taken his own life while in the cell. However, she said she had not been given a detailed explanation of what happened to him.
The Facebook user also alleged that her brother was taken to the morgue without any family member being present.
Expressing her distress, Claire said her father was late and her mother was struggling to cope with the situation.
She appealed for help in getting answers about her brother’s death and called for justice.

“Nigerians, please come to my aid, this is my only brother the only son of my parents.
My very one immediate younger
brother. I learnt on Tuesday 20/10/2026 evening that my brother was in a morgue in Ogun state meanwhile my mum and sisters where in Lagos, my brother here was in Ogun state.
My brother wanted to take care of his farm in Ogun state. My mum too has farms In Ogun state, and that was the reason he was in Ogun state. I heard he was in the morgue on Tuesday evening I couldn’t wait for the next day to enter road, I went straight to our place in ogun state I asked the person that called.
What happened to my only brother? She he was arrested since Saturday the 17/10/2026 and was taken to pOlice cell and he d! ed in the cell. The family was not even informed that my brother was arrested, we spoke few days back before this unfortunate accident. Most times he line wouldn’t connect because he was always in the farm.
I went straight to the station to ask about my brother, I asked that I wanted to bail him I also asked what his crime was. They told me he was brought in because someone claimed he stole plantain!!!!! Plantain!!!! That my mum also have in her own farm. o fo fo that I should take heart, that unfortunately my brother took his own lIfe in the cell. They haven’t told me what they did to my only brother, and they rushed and took him to the morgue without any family members present.
I am a very young girl, my father is late, my mother is not even getting herself anymore, I need these people to tell me exactly what happened to my brother o fo I need help, I need help, my only brother fo my brother needs Justice!!!!!”
