Afrobeat singer Davido has sparked debate online after speaking openly about his family past and citing his father as his biggest role model in life, while also praising his parenting approach.
In a recent interview with Ndani.tv, the ‘Fall’ crooner discussed how his upbringing impacted him, particularly the influence of his father, Adedeji Adeleke.
According to him, his father had a significant impact on who he is today and how he is raising his own children.
Davido disclosed that, contrary to popular belief, his late mother, Veronica Adeleke, gave birth to only him and his sister, Sharon Adeleke.
He then discovered that his mother was not the biological mother of some of his other siblings.
The musician commended his father for keeping the family together and raising all of the children with love and balance, despite the complications of their blended family arrangement.
He stated that this incident has influenced how intentional he is in raising his five children.
Davido, a father of five children with four different women, has his first daughter, Imade, with Sophia Momodu, and his second child, Hailey, with US-based Amanda.
He also has twins with his wife, Chioma Adeleke, and a son with UK-based beauty artist Larissa London.
Sadly, Davido and Chioma endured a devastating loss when their son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, died in 2021.
