UD Almería to Donate All Ticket Sales Revenue to Family of Jesús de Miguel

Spanish football club UD Almería has announced that it will donate all revenue generated from ticket sales for its home match against Tenerife to support the family of Jesús de Miguel.

The club disclosed the initiative in an announcement made alongside its president, Mohammed Al Khereij. The gesture has also drawn attention because Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly owns a 25 per cent stake in the club.

Club expresses sympathy for bereaved family

In announcing the decision, UD Almería acknowledged that financial assistance could never make up for the loss of a loved one or fully ease the pain experienced by the bereaved family.

The club stated:

“We are fully aware that nothing can ever compensate for the loss of a loved one, knowing no form of support as financial or emotional, can ease the pain caused by tragedy of this kind.”

Despite recognising the limitations of financial support, the club said it hoped the donation would provide some assistance to the family during the difficult period.

A gesture of solidarity

The decision has attracted praise from football followers, with many describing it as a thoughtful demonstration of compassion and solidarity beyond the football pitch.

By dedicating the proceeds from the match to Jesús de Miguel’s family, UD Almería has demonstrated its willingness to use the occasion to support those affected by the tragedy.
