Afrobeat musician Tiwa Savage has revealed that the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation and Berklee College of Music are collaborating to offer top-notch music instruction to Lagos, Nigeria, for the first time.
Aspiring musicians will have the chance to learn directly from Berklee specialists from April 23rd to April 26th, 2026.
The Berklee in Nigeria: Tiwa Savage Intensive Music Program, led by Berklee alumnus Tiwa Savage (PDM ’07), aims to provide Africa’s up-and-coming talent with practical experience in the music industry.
Participants will learn how to pursue professions in music, both on and off stage.
“Music is about more than talent; it’s about opportunity and guidance,” said Tiwa Savage. “Through this program, we want Africa’s young musicians to see what’s possible and take their place on the global stage.”
Participants will engage in workshops, mentoring sessions, and hands-on training over the course of four days with the goal of influencing the direction of music on the continent.
An important step in fostering Africa’s creative genius without requiring them to leave their homes is this project.
The program promises to be a game-changer for Nigerian and African musicians, opening doors to chances they may never have dreamed of thanks to Berklee’s world-class experience and Tiwa Savage’s mentorship.
