“Tinubu is a one-term president, he won’t return in 2027” – Sowore insists

Omoyele Sowore, a human rights activist and former presidential candidate, has issued a bold political declaration regarding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s future, asserting that he will not seek a second term in government.

Sowore made the comment while condemning the current administration, alleging that Nigerians are facing terrible times under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership.

“I can assure Nigerians that Tinubu is not coming back, he’s a one-term president, he’s sucking the life out of Nigerians,” he said.

His speech underscores continued political tension and criticism of the administration, with opposition voices questioning economic and governance initiatives.

Sowore had earlier opposed the recently signed Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill 2026, calling it a threat to Nigeria’s democracy.

His remark came after President Bola Tinubu signed the modified electoral law at the State House in Abuja, prompting reactions from Nigerians and opposition parties calling for free and fair elections in 2027.
