Peller, a popular streamer and video developer, has responded to rapper Ycee’s criticism of what he calls “Peller culture” in Nigeria.

Previously, in a viral interview, Ycee claimed that Nigerian society no longer celebrated intellectual excellence, alleging that many young people now believe they can achieve success by doing “dumb things” online because such content generates views, engagement, and money.

In response to the remarks, Peller was disappointed by Ycee’s comments, which included his name, and questioned the rapper’s criticism of content providers.

“Some OGs don’t deserve respect. This kind Ycee man, now see wetin elderly man dey talk. You people bring music promotion to the so-called olodo, na the same people una dey promote and beg with small money,” he wrote.

Peller claimed that many musicians who condemn online creators continue to rely on influencers and streamers to market their music and increase their visibility.

He also suggested that content makers have become a significant element of the entertainment industry, assisting artists in reaching a larger audience via social media platforms.

“Na online una sabi give money. When una wan promote music, na still these same people una dey run come meet,” he added.

The exchange has stirred online controversy, with some supporting Ycee’s concerns about schooling and others backing Peller, who claims that content creation has become a genuine job route.

The feud between the two entertainers continues to elicit comments as fans reflect on the growing impact of social media creators in Nigeria’s entertainment sector.
