“Two broke people getting married is like two AS getting married” – Nigerian lady advises

A Nigerian woman has sparked a debate online after advising people to carefully consider their financial circumstances before choosing a marriage partner.

The woman, identified on X as @Adasu_d_gr8, shared her views while discussing the importance of financial stability in marriage.

She urged people to avoid entering marriages where both partners already know they may face serious financial difficulties together.

“Don’t marry someone that you know both of you will struggle financially.

“Don’t marry a br0ke person, and I’m not trying to br0ke shame anybody,” she wrote.

She explained that her position was not intended to ridicule or discriminate against people experiencing financial hardship. Instead, she said she was concerned about how financial struggles within a marriage could eventually affect the children.

To illustrate her point, she compared the situation to two people with the same blood genotype getting married, arguing that the consequences may be felt more by their children than by the couple themselves.

“Two br0ke people getting married is like two AS getting married.

“It won’t affect you much. It’s your children that would pay the prize,” she stated.

The woman subsequently encouraged people to take a potential partner’s financial circumstances into consideration before deciding to marry.

Addressing women specifically, she advised them to think about the possible implications for their future children when considering marriage to a financially struggling man.

“If he’s p00r, please say no for the sake of your children,” she wrote.

Her comments have since generated mixed reactions online, with social media users sharing differing opinions about financial stability, marriage and the responsibilities couples have towards their future children.
