Jarvis, a content creator, responded to rapper YCee’s condemnation of what he called “Peller culture” or a “Olodo uprising” on social media.
The conflict erupted after YCee criticised the growing popularity of content that he says rewards individuals for doing “dumb” or sensational things online, claiming that it sends the incorrect message to young people and may dissuade them from respecting education.
In response to the comments, Jarvis supported content creators, claiming that many educated Nigerians have struggled to find work after receiving university degrees.
She questioned what graduates should do when work chances are sparse.
According to Jarvis, making material online has become a genuine source of income for many young people.
She pointed out that she had graduated from school and refuted the notion that content makers are inherently opposed to education.
Jarvis also stated that various people have varied interests and talents, claiming that while some people may identify with what detractors refer to as “Peller culture,” she personally identifies with “AI culture.”
Jarvis expressed appreciation for digital platforms and technological developments that have enabled young Nigerians to earn money online.
She suggested that without such possibilities, many young people would face even more economic difficulties.
