Hours after a US military strike, unexploded bombs were found in Kwara State, Nigeria, causing panic.
The United States launched an attack against Islamic State extremists in North-west Nigeria, as GistReel previously reported.
In a post on Truth Social, President Donald Trump declared the strike.
Trump claimed in his tweet that, in his capacity as Commander in Chief, he ordered the operation.
Claiming that extremists have been killing Christians in Nigeria for years, he underlined that his administration is dedicated to combating radical Islamic terrorism.
The unexploded aerial bombs were found in Offa Local Government Area after explosions that destroyed multiple structures on Friday, December 26, 2025, according to a report from Leadership News.
According to Leadership News, the impacted buildings were situated in Offa’s Yidi neighbourhood.
Notably, in November 2025, Trump designated Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” under the International Religious Freedom Act due to his outspoken criticism of the country’s persecution of Christians.
