“First time in history” – Man drags Tinubu administration over alleged US airstrikes on t€rrorists

A viral tweet by X (previously Twitter) user Atikun Sokoto that harshly insulted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration sparked a wave of controversy on social media.

The internet user said that foreign airstrikes are being conducted on Nigerian territory for the first time in the country’s history and called this a sign of a “failing administration.”

He claims that the revelation reveals what he called egregious incompetence in the management of national security.

In his words, read what he wrote below:

“First time in our history that airstrikes are happening on Nigerian soil because of a failing administration. This Tinubu government has exposed its incompetence, unable to protect citizens and now relying on foreign forces to fight terrorists.”

He claims that foreign military action in Nigeria compromises the nation’s sovereignty and exposes the government’s perceived incapacity to handle internal security issues on its own.

While some social media users expressed alarm about the situation of national security and agreed with Sokoto’s dissatisfaction, others contended that international cooperation is occasionally required in the worldwide fight against t€rrorism.

The widely shared tweet is a reflection of the public’s growing dissatisfaction with Nigeria’s current security system and the growing need for practical, locally driven solutions to the nation’s persistent insurgency problems.
