Kenneth Okonkwo, a leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has urged supporters of former Anambra State governor Peter Obi to legally join the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Disobedient,” he said on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief. The lawyer lauded the ADC, calling it as a viable opposition platform and a “vehicle of good people,” noting that the party has widespread support in the South-East.

“Anybody you see in the ADC is allowed to join on one condition: you must be a true democrat. One thing the ADC will not compromise on is internal democracy and adherence to democratic principles,” Okonkwo said

He added that no leader or opposition figure was allowed to impose conditions before joining the party, stressing that discipline and a solid foundation were key values of the ADC.
