Nigerian man Onuora Okeke has appealed for help for his wife, who he says appears to be struggling with traumatic grief following the d3ath of their young daughter, Amanda.

According to Okeke, his wife has reportedly refused to eat, sleep, or bathe since the tragedy, and he said all attempts to comfort and calm her have so far been unsuccessful.

He explained that Amanda’s illness allegedly began with vomiting and frequent purging, symptoms he initially believed were related to teething. He added that the child was taken to several hospitals, where laboratory tests reportedly came back negative for both typhoid and malaria.

Okeke further stated that he contacted several religious leaders to pray for the child, claiming that some allegedly suggested Amanda’s condition was caused by “witchcraft operation.”
