Mohbad’s Father, Joseph Aloba, Weighs In on Toluwanisings’ Burial Dispute, Questions Family’s Critics

Joseph Aloba, father of late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has reacted to the ongoing disagreement between the family of deceased gospel musician Toluwanisings and his widow, Elizabeth Olayemi, over his burial arrangements.

Aloba reportedly compared the situation to the controversy surrounding his son’s burial, questioning why members of Toluwanisings’ family were facing criticism for their position on the matter.

Speaking about the circumstances surrounding the disagreement, he alleged that the late musician’s mother-in-law lived in a well-furnished apartment with air conditioning, while his father reportedly occupied a room with an annual rent of just ₦35,000.

He also expressed reservations about criticisms directed at the family, questioning why people expected them to handle the burial arrangements differently from the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s burial controversy.

The comments come amid growing disagreement over the final resting place of Toluwanisings.

Reports indicate that his widow, Elizabeth Olayemi, prefers that her late husband’s remains be buried in a cemetery rather than at the house he reportedly built.

However, some members of his family are said to oppose her preference, resulting in a disagreement over where the late musician should be laid to rest.

Aloba’s intervention has added another dimension to the ongoing discussion, particularly given his own experience with the controversy surrounding Mohbad’s burial.
