A woman has generated controversy online after explaining how a secret arrangement with her neighbour took an unexpected turn.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, the lady said she was paid ₦50,000 to spy on her neighbor’s wife while he was away for work.

According to her, the boyfriend works in another state and returns home about twice a month. He recently told her that he suspected something weird.

“He works in another state and only comes home twice a month,” she wrote. “Recently, he said he suspected something and asked if I had noticed any man visiting her.”

The woman claimed she told him about a man she frequently saw on the site. The neighbour then begged her to take a photo if she saw the man again.

“He told me to take a picture the next time I see him, and later he sent me ₦50k, saying it was a gift,” she stated.

Last week, she noticed the man leave her neighbor’s flat. She promptly shot a photo and forwarded it to her husband.

“Last week, I saw the guy coming out of my neighbour’s flat. I quickly took a picture of him and sent it to my neighbour,” she explained.

However, the scenario took an unexpected turn hours later. Her spouse apparently contacted her back with new information.

“A few hours later, my neighbour called and said he knows the guy. Apparently, he’s his wife’s best friend,” she wrote.

After the revelation, the man allegedly asked her to refund the ₦50,000 he had previously characterised as a present.
