Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has urged her fans not to lose themselves in romantic relationships, encouraging them to stay focused on their goals and personal growth.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the actress reflected on the sacrifices, sleepless nights and hard work it takes to build something from the ground up, noting that distractions can still come even when success and recognition start to show.

According to Akindele, while there is nothing wrong with falling in love, it is important to put oneself first and not lose sight of one’s ambitions in the process.

She advised her followers to know their worth, remain focused and embrace self-love, adding that the message was also a reminder to herself.

“You work so hard, sleepless nights, sacrifices, building something from scratch. Then come the accolades! But you see, distractions will come in different forms, sometimes even in the form of love.

Nothing wrong with falling in love o! Just don’t lose yourself. Know your worth, stay focused and love yourself first. I’m preaching to myself too!” she wrote.
