A Nigerian woman raised outrage online after voicing her unhappiness with what she characterised as the “new reality” of dating.

In a video published on social media, the lady commented on what she called a complete reversal of roles in the dating scene, stating that things had changed from how they were previously.

According to her, ladies who used to have men ask for introductions to their single acquaintances are now approaching guys and asking if they know any eligible bachelors.

The lady remembers a time when males frequently asked ladies for assistance in meeting their single female acquaintances.

She went on to say that at the time, many women believed they had more options.

The lady said that the situation has changed, and now some women are looking for connections.

“Everything has changed now. Before, it was men who used to ask us to give them our single friends. We’d even be telling them, ‘If you want me to give you my friend, you’ll have to pay o.’ And they would give us money just to connect them with our friends.

“Back then, we go dey form, use men play. But now, things have changed. Now we are the ones begging men to give us their single friends, asking them, ‘Don’t you have any friend who is single?’”

“The men are now feeling themselves. Imagine when they eventually reply, they’re telling you, ‘I have one, but he has a girlfriend… although he likes you.’”

“Imagine they are now mocking us. God, please reverse things back to how they used to be.”
