As part of attempts to stem the flow of insecurity in his state and thwart the activities of bandits, Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has imposed an immediate statewide ban on the sale, acquisition, transportation and storage of petroleum products in jerrycans.
The governor declared this in a new Executive Order issued during an emergency security conference attended by security agencies, traditional rulers, and other relevant stakeholders.
The governor stated that the ban on the sale of petrol in jerry cans is aimed to keep fuel supplies from reaching criminal elements operating from forests and other distant hideouts.
