Singer Brymo has spoken about his long-standing dispute with chocolate city, maintaining that their relationship ended over business and contractual disagreements rather than personal hostility.

Speaking during a recent interview on Yanga FM, Brymo rejected claims that there was a personal feud between him and the label, explaining that the conflict arose from contractual issues that eventually resulted in legal action.

According to the singer, he chose to take greater control of his career after realizing the need to become financially independent.

“I was becoming a man. I was already 29 years old when it all started. I needed to make a living,” he said.

Brymo further alleged that Chocolate City failed to meet certain obligations outlined in his contract. He claimed that he had to source producers himself and finance the recording of his debut album after the label allegedly did not provide the agreed support.

The singer also asserted that despite the success of his Son of a Kapenta album, he has never received royalties from the project.

“They still have the album to this day. I’ve not made anything from it. Nothing,” he alleged.
