A 26-year-old Nigerian woman has prompted huge internet outcry after speaking out about her choice to end her marriage following her husband’s imprisonment and likely extradition to the United States.
The anecdote was shared by a Facebook user named Ikenna Nwatu, who lives in London.
According to him, the young woman requested that her tale be published anonymously so that she might receive public feedback.
The lady claimed that she and her husband married in Aba two years ago, and that their wedding was magnificent and well-known among the city’s residents.
She stated that they are now blessed with a son and had lived a luxurious lifestyle while it lasted.
According to her, her spouse, whom she refers to as a “yahoo boy,” was arrested in September and is being held in DSS prison in Abuja.
She said their lawyer told them he might face up to 15 years in prison in the United States.
She admitted she knew about his activities before marriage, saying: “My husband is a yahoo boy which I am aware of.”
The young woman claimed that, while her husband offered her a good life, she never compelled him to commit fraud and believes she should not bear the repercussions alone.
She also accused him of leading a lavish lifestyle and infidelity, alleging that he was “answering odogwu and carrying girls” without her knowing.
The lady revealed plans to sell two residences her husband purchased in her name and possibly relocate abroad to start again.
She emphasised that she has made her decision, regardless of public opinion.

We got married 2 yrs ago in Aba and now blessed with a son. A very lavish wedding that people who stays in Aba are aware of.
My husband is a yahoo boy which I am aware of. He was arrested in September and have been in the Dss custody abuja. Our lawyer said he is looking at 15 years jail term in the USA and I honestly don’t think I will wait for him.
I know he gave me good life for the past 3 years of knowing him but I never forced or made him a yahoo boy. After all he was already doing it before I met him. He made the money for himself alone, answering odogwu and carrying girls which he thought I didn’t know about.
Honestly I am a young girl of 26yrs and don’t think I will pause my life and wait for am in jail for 15years abeg.
I can sell 2 properties he got for me on my name and maybe move abroad to start a new life.
People can judge me all they want but I think I will move on.”
