“If he can do much in three years, imagine four more” – Defense Minister praises Tinubu amid insecurity concerns

Gen. Christopher Musa, Minister of Defence, has urged Nigerians to continue supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, arguing that the country will benefit if the president is given more time to finish his reforms.

During a recent discussion with media, Musa stated that many of the troubles Nigerians face are the result of problems that have been ignored for years and are now being handled through unpleasant but necessary decisions.

“If he could have done this in three years, imagine if he has four or five additional years to finish. We need Nigerians to understand that a lot of things that were left out are what he is tackling. He is taking very bold action,” he stated.

He admitted that the reforms would be painful in the short term, but asserted that the country will eventually reap the advantages.

Drawing a parallel with childbirth, Musa stated that difficult times typically precede delight and that Nigerians should be patient as the government continues its programs.

“When you take bold action, there will be difficulty at the beginning, but at the end of it, it’s just like a woman that is pregnant. Immediately she delivers, she’ll be joyful. What we are going through is making us stronger, and we are going to come out better,” he added.

His words have elicited a mixed response online, with some Nigerians acknowledging that reforms take time to produce results, while others contend that citizens are currently facing great economic hardship and insecurity concerns.

Musa insisted that Nigerians continue to support the president, expressing confidence that the country will be far better off if the current administration is allowed to fulfil its agenda.
