A close friend of the late gospel singer Ifunanya Nwangene, better known by her stage name Nanyah, has shared heartfelt details of what he saw at the hospital just before she passed away.
Many Nigerians have expressed shock and sadness in response to his account, which has generated major internet reactions.
According to reports, Ifunanya passed away after being bitten by a snake at her apartment.
After being taken to a hospital in Abuja, medical professionals tried to save her life by giving her anti-venom.
The musician did not make it through the tragedy, despite medical efforts.
TikTok user @gossiplawyer_ posted a video of the young man, who claimed to be Ifunanya’s buddy, explaining what he witnessed upon arriving at the hospital.
Read what he said below;
“When I got there, she was being attended to. In fact, the anti-venom was being administered to her by the time I walked in, but I could see her struggling, grasping for breath and all that.”
He added that as the physicians continued to treat her, he had to provide her with physical support.
“So I helped, I held her while that process was going on. She was already on a drip, and at some point, they brought in the oxygen.”
The friend also revealed that medics asked for more anti-venom as a precaution, even after it had been given.
He explained: “They needed more than the anti-venom, so they asked us to go and buy.”
He clarified that the hospital wants to make sure that nothing was left up to chance.
In his words: “They had already given her anti-venom, but I think they were trying to do a backup, just in case what they had given her wasn’t working.”
Many Nigerians responded to the video on social media, with many expressing their sorrow over the singer’s passing.
