‘I don’t know how to explain it to our kids’ – Cucurella’s wife reacts to husband’s Chelsea exit

Marc Cucurella’s wife, Claudia Rodríguez, has shared an emotional reaction after the defender’s unexpected move from Chelsea FC to Real Madrid.

The Spain international’s transfer to Real Madrid was confirmed on Monday, ending his four-year stay at Stamford Bridge and marking his return to Spain.

Following the £51.8 million move, she expressed her feelings on social media, reflecting on the family’s time in London and the difficulty of adjusting to the sudden change.

She revealed on Instagram that she struggles with how to explain to their three children that Chelsea is no longer part of their lives. She noted that they moved to London with two babies and are leaving with three children (two boys and a British girl), making the situation even harder to explain.

“I don’t know how to say goodbye to my home,” Rodriguez wrote.

In a detailed post, she looked back on their life in England since Cucurella’s spells at Brighton and Chelsea, and the memories they built over the years.

“Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this experience,” she said. “I feel so lucky for everything we’ve shared these past years. I arrived with two babies and I’m leaving with two little boys and a British girl.”

Rodriguez also admitted the emotional challenge of explaining the move to their children.

“I don’t know how I’m going to explain to them that Chelsea is no longer part of our lives,” she added.

She later clarified that her message was a reflection of her personal emotions, adding: “I’m exploding with pride and happiness. Let the adventure begin.”
