A Nigerian woman, Hope Neche, has publicly called out her former husband, accusing him of abandoning his responsibilities as a father and refusing to be actively involved in their son’s life.

Hope, who previously went viral after opening up about the collapse of her early marriage, took to Facebook to appeal for public intervention, alleging that her child’s father has failed to provide financial support or maintain a relationship with their son.

In her post, she claimed that the last time he saw the child was when she pleaded with him to care for the boy while she was admitted to the hospital.

According to her, despite her poor health at the time, he allegedly showed no concern for her condition and ignored her request to bring their son to visit her while she was hospitalized.

She further alleged that after returning the child, he promised to see him again but never fulfilled that promise.

Expressing frustration over the financial burden of raising the child alone, Hope said she could no longer shoulder all the responsibilities by herself, adding that the child’s provisions had run out while she was also struggling to meet other household expenses.

She ended the post by insisting that her former husband should not abandon his parental responsibilities, warning that she would continue to demand accountability over the welfare of their son.
