Suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists have att@cked Kautikari village in Chibok, setting fire to both the primary and secondary schools in the community.
According to security sources, the insurgents stormed the village around 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 13. The att@ck forced residents to flee into nearby bushes to escape harm, although no casualties had been reported at the time of the incident.
The a$sault comes amid growing security concerns in the area, particularly following the disappearance of pupils from Mussa Primary and Junior Secondary School in Askira-Uba, who were reportedly abd¥cted and have remained missing for nearly a month.
Residents expressed shock at the destruction of the schools, noting that although Kautikari has experienced previous att@cks, public facilities had not been targeted in the same manner.
One resident said the village had been att@cked months earlier without any destruction of public or private property, making the burning of the Primary School and Day Secondary School particularly unusual and worrying.
The latest att@ck highlights the continuing security challenges facing communities in parts of Borno State, where insurgent groups remain active despite ongoing counterterrorism efforts.
