“You’ll go to hell if you don’t vote” — Donald Trump warns Republicans ahead of November midterm election

President Donald Trump of the United States (US) has warned his followers that skipping the midterm elections in November could have dire repercussions and has pushed Republicans to cast huge numbers of ballots.

In an attempt to mobilise party members ahead of the elections, Trump spoke at the Republican Party convention in Dallas, Texas, and urged them to get their friends, family, and other people to cast ballots.

“You know what happens if you don’t vote? You go to hell,” Trump told the crowd before leading supporters in a pledge to vote.

Reiterating accusations that Democrats commit extensive electoral fraud, the Trump reportedly advised Republicans to “try and cheat like hell.”

During his speech, Trump highlighted the performance of the stock market, decreased prescription drug costs, increased military spending, and a decrease in illegal border crossings as examples of the accomplishments of his administration.

“In 19 months, I’ve delivered on every single promise I’ve made,” he said.

Additionally, he attempted to portray the midterm elections as a referendum on his administration, cautioning that a Democratic win would reverse the advancements he claimed had been made under his direction.

Democrats, according to Trump, want to seize private property, destroy Texas’ oil and gas sector, and permit criminals to “rob, rape, and kill.”

In a same vein, Vise President JD Vance urged voters not to give Democrats control of the nation due to differences over specific policy matters and urged Republicans to protect their legislative majorities.

“Don’t give the country over to a bunch of crazy people because you happen to disagree with us on a policy issue here or there,” Vance said.
