A guy has sparked online debate after openly criticising the status of modern relationships, claiming that genuine love is rapidly disappearing as mind games, materialism, and social media pressure dominate dating culture.
“Y’all are turning real lovers to players. You have turned relationships into mind games. Some of us didn’t break up with our ex because of cheating or violence, some of us broke up because of genotype, family issues and things that could affect the future.”
He emphasised that many relationships fail because of deeper, long-term issues and clarified that not all breakups are the result of betrayal.
“Now everything is love bombing, mind games, and competition. We can’t even have meaningful conversations again. It’s all about bags, wigs, money and Instagram highlights,” he said.
But he claimed that today’s dating scene is reduced to manipulation, irrational expectations, and emotional games, with people prioritising perks over commitment.
The man also took issue with the growing trend of people getting into partnerships solely for the sake of trying out new places, enjoying pricey dinners, or producing material for social media.
He claims that instead of fostering real emotional relationships, dating has evolved into a means to “use people.”
He continued by saying that both sexes are ready to assign labels to one another, such as “gold diggers” for women and “jobless” for men, without considering different viewpoints.
He cautioned that genuine relationships and marriages would soon become uncommon if this keeps on.
