An X user has sparked reactions online after recounting an encounter with a man who allegedly became upset after hearing her call her husband “babe.”

According to her, the man insisted that wives should address their husbands as “Daddy” and allegedly claimed he would b3at his wife if she ever referred to him as “babe.”

Amused by the interaction, the woman joked that she initially expected him to recommend a more traditional title such as “Nna anyi” instead. She maintained that she would continue calling her husband “babe” without issues.

She further explained that although she occasionally calls her husband “Daddy” depending on her mood, both she and her husband were surprised by the man’s intense reaction. She later playfully asked other couples to share the pet names they use for their partners.
