An X user has recounted an incident that has ignited discussions about authenticity and how people present themselves online.

The individual explained that they had recommended an event planner for a job in Lagos said to be worth more than $7,000 after seeing her work on X.

However, the situation reportedly changed when the client chose not to move forward, stating that the person who arrived did not resemble the individual displayed on the planner’s page.

In an effort to understand what happened, the user mentioned contacting the planner, who confirmed she was the same person but admitted that her photos and videos online had been edited, making her look lighter than she actually is in person.
