Actor Kunle Omisore of Nollywood has disclosed an alleged encounter with individuals he called witches following his purported summons to resolve a conflict.

In a recent episode of the African A-List podcast, Omisore talked about the strange experience of being accused by a lady of harming something that belonged to her.

The actor claims that after maintaining that he had never met the woman and was not accountable for the harm, he went to the meeting to present his case.

He claimed that he was taken aback by what he saw at the event, including individuals with calabashes atop their heads.

Omisore said, “Witches exist. I have gone to a meeting with witches before and came back to the house. Yes, they invited me. I went to settle a dispute.”

He continued by saying that the woman had accused him of offending her, but he insisted that he had never met her and could not comprehend the accusation.

Omisore further stated, “And I told their leader that I have never met her before, nor did I ruin anything that belonged to her.”

The actor claimed that his encounter was different from how witches are typically portrayed in Nollywood movies, especially in terms of their appearance and attire.

He clarified that the people he saw lacked the painted faces typically seen on witches in Nigerian films.

He claimed that several of them carried calabashes and dressed in traditional iro and buba attire.

The peculiarity of Omisore’s claim and his juxtaposition of his said real-life meeting with fictitious depictions of witches in Nollywood have garnered notice.

Since then, the actor’s remarks have contributed another fascinating chapter to conversations about traditional beliefs and how they are portrayed in Nigerian popular culture.
