“We don tire” — Mother cries out as teacher gives her child 6 assignments daily

A Lagos woman has caused a lot of controversy after expressing concern over what she said was an excessive amount of schoolwork assigned to her five-year-old child.

A obviously distressed mother appealed to authorities in a TikTok video that went viral, claiming that the amount of assignments was becoming too much for both parents and kids to handle.

In addition to other projects, she stated in the tearful video that her child is given up to six assignments per day.

“The assignment is becoming too much. We don tire. We are getting six assignments every single day. I just finished doing projects for my five-year-old.

“At this point, the project is like oil company projects. What is the problem? Abeg, make una help us. Lagos State government, look into it.”

She claims that the workload is unrealistic for kids that age in addition to being unpleasant.

She clarified that students are still expected to finish numerous assignments at home after putting in long hours at school, which leaves them with little time for relaxation.

“Sleep and wake up again. What is going to happen? Six assignments every day. A child I gave birth to in 2020, and you’re giving seven assignments?” she added.

Since then, the video has sparked heated discussions on social media.

Her worries were shared by many parents, who said that young children are being subjected to needless academic pressure at an early age.

Heavy homework loads, according to some, can have an impact on kids’ general growth, creativity, and mental health.
