A woman identifying as a military wife has generated an online controversy after stating that she will not vote President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election due to concerns about troops’ care and pay.

In a video circulating on social media, the woman stated that, while serving military people are prohibited by law from engaging in party politics, their spouses are civilians with voting rights. She asserted that military wives around the country will vote to show their unhappiness with the current leadership.

The woman said, “We are coming out in full force 2027. Military wives we no dey vote Tinubu and nothing go happen.”

Additionally, she questioned the government’s claims that soldiers’ earnings had improved, claiming that military families had not noticed the purported increase.

According to her, “You no increase soldier salary. Even as your spokes man Retired Musa dey talk say you don increase am from 49 to 100, even as little as the 100 we no see am.”

She also claimed that military families had not benefited from the government’s promises.

The woman concluded her remarks by saying, “We are not voting you baba, nothing you go do.”

Since then, her remarks have sparked conflicting responses on social media. While some people expressed sympathy for the welfare issues she brought up, others questioned the veracity of her assertions about government policies and troop salary.
