U.S. Congressman reacts to Nigeria, U.S. airstrikes

Congressman Riley Moore of the United States has stated that President Donald Trump is committed to stopping the massacre of Christians in Nigeria and has warned that if the violence persists, more action may be taken.

Following recent advancements in U.S.-Nigeria counterterrorism operations, Moore released the statement on Friday using his official X (previously Twitter) account.

Recall that the US government conducted an airstrike against militants in North-west Nigeria. People have continued to respond to the reports with differing opinions.

The congressman claims that the current strike is a first step in addressing the greater security situation that affects Nigerians of all religious and ethnic backgrounds, as well as what he termed as the continued massacre of Christians.

He emphasised that the operation represents a firmer position by the United States in support of Nigeria’s battle against terrorism and violent extremism and warned that the Trump administration’s resolve on the matter should not be undervalued.

If the security situation doesn’t improve, Moore continued, other actions might be required.

“President Trump has been clear that the killing of Christians in Nigeria must end.

As I stated at the outset: Do not test President Trump‘s resolved in this matter. Tonight’s strike in coordination with the Nigerian government is just the first step to ending the slaughter of Christians and the security crisis affecting all Nigerians.”
