The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has rescued five k!dnapped victims and neutralized two suspected baπdits during a joint rescue operation carried out in the Byazhin area of the FCT on Tuesday, June 9.

In a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, the operation was launched in response to recent k!dnapping incidents in the Paze community of Byazhin. The FCT Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, reportedly led the operation alongside personnel from the Anti-K!dnapping Unit, the NPF Intelligence Response Team (IRT), and the Kubwa Area Command, with support from local hunters and vigilante groups.

According to the statement, the joint security team conducted extensive search, clearance, and rescue operations across the Paze and Byazhin communities. During the mission, officers engaged suspected k!dnappers in a guπ battle, resulting in the d3aths of two suspects and the arrest of two others identified as Icheh Mohammadu and Abubakar Usman. Other members of the group reportedly escaped into nearby hills with guπshot injuries.

The operation also led to the rescue of five k!dnapped victims and the recovery of two AK-47 rifles along with their magazines.

The police urged healthcare workers, hospitals, and members of the public to report anyone seeking treatment for guπshot wounds under suspicious circumstances.

Meanwhile, security operatives have continued search operations in the area and surrounding communities to apprehend the fleeing suspects and dismantle the criminal network.
