Trump Rejects Iran’s Proposal to Open Strait of Hormuz

According to Fox News, Trump administration has officially turned down a new proposal from Iran aimed at easing tensions in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran offered to reopen the strategic shipping lane, but only if the United States agreed to stop current nuclear negotiations.

President Trump described the offer as a “sweetheart deal” and indicated he does not believe the Iranian government is acting sincerely. According to the President, recent communications suggest the country is struggling internally.

“Iran has just informed us that they are in a state of collapse,” the President shared in a recent update. He noted that the Iranian leadership is currently trying to stabilize its own domestic situation while asking for the shipping route to be opened as soon as possible.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio supported the decision to stay firm, arguing that Iran’s goal is to use its nuclear potential as a way to control global interests.

“They want to do with the nuclear weapon like they do oil,” Rubio said. “They want to hold the world hostage to do whatever they want. It’s unacceptable.”
