Troops of the 12 Brigade of the Nigerian Army under the 2 Division have rescued an abd¥cted mother and her six-month-old baby following a swift response to a k!dnapping incident in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The incident reportedly occurred late on June 3, 2026, when suspected terr0rists stormed a residence near Solid Rock School in Ijalu, Egbe, and abd¥cted five members of a family, including the woman, her infant child, and three others.
Lieutenant Hassan Abdullahi, Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the 12 Brigade, confirmed the rescue operation in a statement issued on June 4, 2026.
According to the statement, troops acted promptly after receiving information about the abduction, leading to the successful rescue of the mother and her child. Efforts are ongoing to secure the release of the remaining victims and apprehend those responsible for the attack.
