“Tinubu does not really trust me because I am an Igbo man and I worked for Peter Obi before” – Cubana Chiefpriest says days after losing APC House of Reps ticket

Popular socialite Cubana Chief Priest, whose real name is Pascal Okechukwu, has reacted to his defeat in the All Progressives Congress primary election for the Orlu East House of Representatives seat in Imo State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Early reports claimed that Okechukwu secured only 14 votes, losing the APC ticket to the incumbent lawmaker, a result that sparked widespread reactions and mockery on social media.

In an earlier statement, the socialite said he withdrew from the race after discovering that it was not yet the turn of his local government area to produce a candidate for the position.

However, during a recent livestream with TikTok personality Peller, Cubana Chief Priest suggested that political bias may have contributed to the outcome. He claimed that the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu may not fully trust him because he is Igbo and previously supported former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi.
