A Nigerian man has expressed frustration with the country’s healthcare system after reportedly taking his son to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Abeokuta, Ogun State, for an ear-related check-up.
In a video shared online, the man said he was surprised after the hospital gave him an appointment to return on October 2, 2026, despite visiting the facility on September 10.
He showed the hospital card bearing the October 2 appointment date and questioned why his son could not be attended to earlier.
“Imagine you come to Federal Medical Centre here in Abeokuta to treat your child for whatever thing it is. I brought my son here to check his ears, and they are saying we should come back in October,” he said.
The man expressed concern over the waiting period, particularly because the appointment was for his child’s medical examination.
He also called on the Federal Government to improve healthcare services across the country, arguing that Nigerians were already struggling with worsening economic conditions.
His complaint has sparked discussion online about access to timely medical care, hospital appointment systems and the challenges facing Nigeria’s public healthcare sector.
