A hilarious story about a Junior Secondary School 2 (JSS 2) student who allegedly paid an okada rider ₦1,000 to pretend to be his father after being caught missing classes has been shared by a Nigerian teacher.
The instructor, who went by @AdageorgeA on X, described how she told the student that before he could return to her class, he had to bring his father to school the next day.
She claims that the boy boldly consented and arrived the following morning with a man posing as his father and wearing an oversized suit.
According to reports, the man promised to discipline the student at home and expressed regret for his actions. But the teacher quickly discovered that the okada rider who drove her to school each morning was the real father.
“Teaching in a Nigerian secondary school is an extreme sport. 😭 I caught one JSS 2 boy skipping classes and told him he must bring his father to school the next day before he can enter my class. This small boy looked me dead in the eye and said, ‘No problem, Ma.’
“The next morning, he marched into the staff room with a very serious man wearing an oversized suit. The man started acting like a strict father, apologising deeply for his ‘son’s’ behaviour and promising to discipline him at home. I was nodding along until I looked at the man’s face properly.
“My people, the ‘father’ was the exact same okada man that drops me at the school gate every morning! 💀 This boy had paid my bike man ₦1,000 to wear a suit and pretend to be his dad. When the bike man finally recognised me, he just shouted ‘Aunty Teacher!’ and ran away! 😭😭”
The student’s inventiveness and the unexpected part the motorcyclist played in the story have made people laugh. However, the teacher’s social media account continues to serve as the basis for the narrative.
