Super Eagles striker Samuel Chimerenka Chukwueze and his family are allegedly in grief following the death of his mother, Mrs. Sarah Chukwueze.

David Chukwueze, Chukwueze’s brother, revealed the devastating news via heartfelt Instagram posts rather than Chukwueze himself.

In one post, David wrote; “Can’t even post your picture to say RIP mum.”

In another, he added; “My forever love just left me without saying goodbye.”

“You didn’t even carry your grandchild,” David said, lamenting the moments his late mother will never be able to enjoy with the family.

The intense emotional suffering surrounding her death was mirrored in the post. No information regarding Mrs. Sarah Chukwueze’s illness or the circumstances surrounding her death has been made public as of the time of this story.

The Super Eagles came third at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where Samuel Chukwueze played for Nigeria. He has not made a public statement regarding the defeat.

The tragic event occurs barely two days after Sunday Ndidi, the father of Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi, was killed in a car accident in Delta State, causing the national team to go through a difficult time.
