Big Brother Naija star Venita Akpofure has responded to fellow reality star Cross Okonkwo after he suggested that she face Phyna in a celebrity boxing match.

Amid the ongoing online conversation surrounding celebrity boxing, Cross took to X, formerly Twitter, to propose a potential bout between the two reality stars. He described them as strong personalities and said he would be willing to pay to watch them compete in the boxing ring.

“Venita Akpofure would like you to f!ght UnusualPhyna. Two strong women. I will definitely pay to watch the boxing ring f!ght,” he wrote.

Venita, however, appeared unimpressed by the suggestion and questioned why Cross would want to see a woman being punched for entertainment.

“If you suddenly have an appetite to see a woman punched, please send your wife into a boxing ring,” she replied.

Her response has since attracted attention online, with social media users expressing different opinions about the exchange between the two reality stars.

The proposed matchup comes amid the controversy surrounding Phyna’s upcoming boxing match after she accused content creator Ashmusy of allegedly attempting to have her removed from the fight and replaced with another opponent.

Phyna had claimed that she spent months helping the organisers find an opponent before eventually suggesting Ashmusy, only to later learn that Ashmusy allegedly wanted her dropped from the fight.

The latest exchange has added Venita and Cross to the growing conversation surrounding celebrity boxing, as fans continue to debate potential matchups involving popular Nigerian entertainers.
