Kai Cenat, a well-known American streamer and online celebrity, continued his activities in Lagos by paying Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu a courtesy visit at the Lagos House in Marina.
The visit, which happened on Wednesday, was a part of Cenat’s second trip to Nigeria, a return that has attracted fresh interest from viewers and fans of the international streaming market.
Jubril A. Gawat, the governor’s Senior Special Assistant on New Media, confirmed the meeting and provided information about it in a post on X.
He clarified that the visit gave Cenat a chance to discuss his time in the state and his wider interests with the governor.
“Kai Cenat is in Lagos to follow up on some projects and initiatives he plans to execute for kids and young people in Lagos State, Nigeria,” Gawat said.
Although the visit has sparked curiosity online, representatives of the Lagos State Government have not provided any additional details on Cenat’s schedule or the particular projects under discussion.
One of the most popular streamers in the world, Cenat has a sizable following on websites like Twitch and YouTube, where young people find great resonance in his content.
His visit comes shortly after another well-publicized journey by American streamer IShowSpeed, whose most recent tour of Lagos drew sizable crowds and went viral, highlighting Nigeria’s growing prominence in the global digital and creator culture.
