On Tuesday, January 13, a prosecutor opened fire on his ex-wife while she was presiding over a case as a judge in Istanbul. The judge was h!t in the leg during the incident at the Istanbul Regional Court of Appeals. Early reports suggested that she was in stable condition after being brought to the hospital for treatment.

Images taken soon after the midday sh00ting show police encircling the courthouse as they swiftly secured it and began an investigation.

A similar courtroom incident in Albania months prior, in which Judge Astrit Kalaja was sh0t while supervising a property dispute, was compared to the attack. Two other individuals—a father and son involved in the case—were hurt in the sh00ting, and Kalaja later passed away from his wounds while being transported to a hospital in Tirana.
