Eight years after getting married, Indian actress and former Miss World Priyanka Chopra has shared the principles she feels have kept her and her ten-year-younger husband, Nick Jonas, together.
Speaking at a gathering in New York, Priyanka stated that maintaining their relationship had been largely dependent on their mutual respect for one another’s cultures and understanding of their differences.
She clarified that when spouses were unwilling to learn about each other’s histories, cultural differences could become problematic.
Priyanka Chopra stated that she found great significance in Nick Jonas’ acceptance of her Indian roots and customs. 2018 saw the couple’s multi-day wedding in India, which included both Hindu and Western rituals.
The actress said, “I didn’t know I could love him if he didn’t do that,” while discussing Nick’s acceptance of the culture and traditions connected to her homeland.
Since then, the couple has started a family and participated in Indian holidays and customs. Malti Marie, their daughter, was born through surrogacy in 2022.
Priyanka also commended Nick’s sincerity, adding that despite the demands of working in the entertainment world, she feels free to be herself because of his openness.
Priyanka asserts that daily interactions and kindness are just as crucial to maintaining a marriage as romance.
Additionally, Nick Jonas has previously stated that he saw Priyanka as both his wife and a teammate during both challenging and prosperous times, and that he quickly realised she could be his long-term partner.
The couple, who have been married for eight years, are still raising their daughter while working on several entertainment endeavours.
Their story has sparked a renewed conversation about how couples can create enduring relationships by showing love, respect, and understanding of cultural differences.
