A woman described a funny late-night incident she witnessed involving a married couple, detailing how a man delighted neighbours by singing outside his barred gate after his wife refused to let him into their home.

According to the lady, the incident started at 10 p.m., when the man returned home and continuously blasted his car horn in an attempt to find someone to unlock the gate.

She explained that she initially assumed no one was home. However, after hearing voices from within the enclosure, she understood the gate had remained closed due to a disagreement between the couple rather than a lack of people within.

Sharing the experience, the lady said, “I just witnessed what I can only describe as Midnight Fight Romance.”

She continued, “This man came back home since around 10 p.m. and has been blasting his horn for someone to open the gate. He would horn for a while, stop, then start again. At first, I thought maybe nobody was around to hear him. But the gate remained locked, and I started wondering what was really going on. Then I heard voices from inside and realized this wasn’t a gate problem. The funniest part was that instead of getting angry, the man was outside dancing and singing… ‘Asa butu o! Obi gi daju o!’ Meaning pretty lady be calming down. Meanwhile, madam was inside squeezing face and refusing to open the gate.”

The lady further stated that the repeated sounding of the horn grabbed the attention of neighbours, transforming what looked to be a private argument into an unexpected spectacle.

She stated that the woman eventually opened the gate with a solemn expression, while the guy continued to lighten the scene, eliciting laughs and replies from social media users who described the experience as yet another illustration of the comic side of married life.
