Police Inspector recounts discovery of Augusta’s dec0mposing body in boyfriend Killaboi’s house

A Police Inspector attached to Ajah Police Station has narrated before a Federal High Court in Lagos how the dec0mposing body of 21-year-old Augusta Onuwagbagbe was found inside the home of her boyfriend, Benjamin Best Nnayereugo, popularly known as Killaboi.

The officer, Inspector Odunayo Oloye (Force No. 380736), gave her testimony on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, before Justice Ibironke Harrison during the ongoing murder trial of Nnayereugo.

While being led in evidence by the state prosecutor, Adebayo Araba, Oloye explained that she became involved in the case on July 15, 2023, after Augusta’s mother, Cecilia Onuwagbagbe, reported the matter to the police.

According to the witness, Cecilia informed investigators that her daughter, a student of Lead City University in Ibadan, had an argument with her boyfriend on July 11, 2023.

Oloye stated that Augusta’s mother had intervened and helped settle the disagreement, but later lost communication with both her daughter and Nnayereugo.

She told the court that repeated attempts by Cecilia to contact them were unsuccessful. Concerned about the situation, Augusta’s mother reached out to her daughter’s roommate, who directed her to Nnayereugo’s residence in Oral Estate, Ajah, Lagos.

The witness further stated that upon arriving at the residence, Cecilia spotted her daughter’s vehicle parked there and subsequently lodged a report at the Ajah Police Station.
