Osimhen backed for Madrid or Liverpool move

Uğur Meleke, a Turkish pundit, believes Victor Osimhen, who excelled at Galatasaray, is among the best strikers in the world and is expected to join one of Europe’s top clubs.

Osimhen has been instrumental in Galatasaray’s quest to maintain the Süper Lig championship and their participation in the UEFA Champions League, scoring seven goals in the league, including goals against Liverpool and Juventus.

He also achieved double figures in the league after scoring in the weekend’s 3-1 victory over Alanyaspor.

Meleke rated the Nigerian as one of the world’s best forwards.

“Victor Osimhen, in my opinion, is one of the top five strikers in the world,” he said. “He’s a player who could be mentioned alongside, and ranked alongside, Haaland, Lewandowski, and Lautaro Martinez.”

He added: “Normally, you wouldn’t expect him to be in the Süper Lig at this age. But sometimes life takes a different path. That’s how Osimhen’s story unfolded.”

Meleke suggested that Osimhen’s profile and output make him an ideal candidate for Europe’s top teams, implying that a move to Real Madrid, Manchester City, or Liverpool would not be shocking.

The analyst also likened Osimhen highly to Viktor Gyokeres.

“I think he’s better than Gyokeres,” Meleke remarked, adding that just a few forwards can equal the Nigerian’s versatility and scoring prowess.

Last summer, Osimhen signed Galatasaray from Napoli for a whopping €75 million.

Despite growing interest, club management have stated that he is important to their long-term objectives and “not for sale.”
