Only APC urban bandits benefit from those insulting Atiku, Obi —Atiku replies X user

Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate for 2023, has spoken out on social media against insults hurled at him and Labour Party (LP) candidate Peter Obi.

Atiku responded when a social media user accused his fans of criticising Peter Obi and expecting Atiku to escape criticism in return.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, a user named as Everest accused Atiku’s supporters of treating the former Anambra State governor unfairly.

Everest wrote: “Atiku’s people want to insult Peter Obi without Atiku getting the heat back. Maybe they feel Atiku deserves respect and Peter Obi does not.”

The remark rapidly gained traction, causing Atiku to publicly respond and clarify his viewpoint.

Atiku responded openly, condemning insults to both leaders and warning that such activities undermine national unity and opposition collaboration.

Read what he wrote below:

Dear Everest, Anyone who insults Obi or Atiku do not mean well for the leaders, the Coalition ADC and for Nigeria and Nigerians.

“The only persons who benefit from such a civil war are the APC urban bandits who want to maintain the satanic status quo. We are better together!”

Atiku’s reaction emphasised the importance of opposition figures and supporters working together before engaging in future political activities.

He warned that internal attacks only serve to bolster political rivals and divert attention away from Nigeria’s pressing issues.

The former vice president’s statements have elicited varied reactions, with many fans praising his appeal for cooperation and mutual respect.
