In Ilorin, Kwara State, a 30-year-old man named Olabosun Isiaka perished in a fire that was allegedly started by a fallen high-tension electrical wire.

Around 4 and 5 in the morning, the high-tension wire that supplies electricity to the Yakubu area broke after allegedly being neglected in spite of earlier warnings.

Mr. Seyi Adunbarin told Punch that the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company office in Ilorin had been informed of the defective wire’s impending collapse, but nothing had been done about it.
