Oladotun Ojuolape Kayode, often known as Dotun, is clearly distressed, and the circumstance has evoked intense emotions.
His estranged wife reportedly removed his two children from Nigeria without his consent. In such a situation, any loving parent would understandably feel distressed and worried.
Dotun, feeling ignored and irritated, contacted NAPTIP, expecting the organization to enforce the law, particularly because court rulings and legal limitations were already in effect.
His disappointment was spelt out in a heated social media post:
“You @naptifnigeria, when they kidnapped my two children out of the country with no consent? Completely outside Nigeria’s jurisdiction, violating the law, ignoring an existing contempt of court, an existing court order when they wrote to you, what did you do? This is selective enforcement.”
The frustration of a parent left impotent while the system appears to be responding slowly is highlighted by the palpable sensation of helplessness.
Dotun’s post leaves a lasting impression on anyone who reads it because it goes beyond rage to demand accountability.
